Welcome to my blog

I'm no great blogger so I'll just be adding any bits of news or info I think you may be interested in hearing about

I never thought I'd get so drawn into an awards process but The Muddy Stiletto Awards certainly brought out my competative side!!

I was addicted to checking the cocktail glasses and percentage of votes on their website!!!

The last 30 minutes was hilarious and frantic in the shop, we were grabbing (politely I may add) each customer that was coming in and asking them to log on and vote. It was so close between us and The Corner Shop at Woolhampton, with both of us swapping between 1st and 2nd place every few seconds it seemed!! There were literally decimal places of a percentage in it!!

Then right at the last minute the website went down...aaaaahhhhhh!!!

We then had a long and agonising 5 hour wait to hear confirmation of who had won 1st place........

The results were in.......the screams from myself and Gayle of Enchanting Glass Designs who I share my unit with I'm sure could have been heard for miles around! :)

The Handmade Craft Company had won!!! Hooray!!!!

It means so much to me, the lovely ladies that work for me and to all the talented crafters that hire shelves from me to sell their amazing, different and quirky creations.

A huge thank you goes out to all of our customers, friends and families that supported us by voting and spreading the word :)

During May we were lucky enough to be nominated for the Muddy Stiletto award for 'Best Gift Shop in Berkshire' !!

2 days ago I woke up to an email telling me that we'd made it to the final 5 !!!

How exciting is that!?!?

Now I'm not going to get my hopes up (well I'll try not to anyway!) but to win would be so amazing! Not only for me but for my fabulous staff, Gill (Mum), Bex and Jo and for all of my extremely talented crafters, artists and designers too!! It would make all the hard work worth it.

Voting is live on the Muddy Stiletto's website from 7th - 14th June, it'll be fun to keep and eye on it and see what's happening!!

So, if you'd like to vote please click here.....

Well I just don't know where this year is going?

March has come and gone in a flash.

We were busy with our Meet The Maker throughout the month. Several customers came in to meet some of our crafters specifically, some just stopped in passing. Lots of interesting information was learned about how the crafters create their works of art. Our crafters enjoyed meeting their customers face to face.

Workshops have been ever popular with lots of new skills being picked up and enjoyed.

We've also now added Crochet and Patchwork to the list of things that are being taught, and new dates for needle felting will be released soon!
